Goa Bajrang Dal claims its leader framed up in murder case
Panaji, Feb 5 (PTI) Bajrang Dal today claimed that one ofits local leaders, Jayesh Naik has been falesly implicated bythe Goa police in a case of murder.
Naik is accused of murdering one Sultan Bellary, alabourer from neighbouring Karnataka. Police have arrestedfour people, including Jayesh and his brother Rajesh Naik, inthis connection.
But Bajrang Dal�s Goa convener Sharad Birajdar today toldreporters that police were "targeting Jayesh because he hadtaken on the anti-social elements in Margao, who were enjoyingpolice protection".
Police claimed that Jayesh and others killed Sultan as hewas found stealing from Rajesh''s shop.
Dipak Gaikwad, Konkan region joint secretary of VishwaHindu Parishad, too alleged today that police were framing upJayesh Naik.
Investigating offices are leaking information to somereporters in this regard, to malign Jayesh, he said; demandingthat case be handed over to some other officer.
