Constable surrenders in sexual harassment case

Jaipur, Feb 5 (PTI) A head constable, who was allegedlyinvolved in an attempt to sexually harass a girl, todaysurrendered before the CB-CID here.

"Lal Chand surrendered at the CID office and has deniedhis involvement in the case," DIG of CB-CID, Biju Joseph said.

Chand will be tomorrow produced before the court.

The head constable and a station house officer allegedlytried to sexually harass the girl when she was called forquestioning at Pratap Nagar police station after her friendwent missing.

The girl later tried to commit suicide by jumping beforea train, but survived with critical injuries. Both thepolicemen were suspended after the incident came to light.

Ramnivas Vishnoi, the SHO, has already been arrested.

The Rajasthan government has sanctioned a financial helpof Rs 10 lakh to the victim.
