Cong leaders from Telangana discuss separate statehood issue

Hyderabad, Feb 6 (PTI) Several Congress MPs, ministersand other party leaders from Telangana today held a meeting todiscuss on their future course over the separate agitation.

The meeting discussed how to convince the high commandfor securing separate Telangana and to make serious effortsfor achieving the goal, Congress Lok Sabha member PonnamPrabhakar told reporters.

The meeting assumes significance against the backdropof the announcement of the Telangana political Joint ActionCommittee (JAC) to start a "non-cooperation movement" forTelangana from February 17. JAC comprises TRS, BJP and variouspeople''s organisations.

The JAC has threatened to start non-cooperation againstTelangana public representatives who refused to join them infighting for the statehood.
