Chiranjeevi to meet Sonia tomorrow

New Delhi, Feb 5 (PTI) Amid speculation that he willmerge his party with Congress, Praja Rajyam chief Chiranjeeviis expected to meet AICC President Sonia Gandhi tomorrow andhold discussions on strengthening the relationship between thetwo parties in Andhra Pradesh.

Coming in the backdrop of the agitation for a Telanganastate and churnings in state Congress , the meeting isexpected to discuss proposals like PRP members being inductedinto Nallari Kiran Kumar Reddy Government among others.

"I am here to meet Congress chief Sonia Gandhi. I am hereat her invitation. We will hold discussions on variousissues," he told reporters on his arrival here from Hyderabad.

Political analysts believe that Congress is roping inChiranjeevi to counter the threat posed by its former MP Y SJaganmohan Reddy''s yet-to-be launched party. They also feelthat PRP''s 18 MLAs can save the Congress government by shoringup the legislative arithmetic if there is a threat to it.

Asked about his meeting, Chiranjeevi said he will decidethe course of action only after meeting Gandhi.

"Let me see what proposals Sonia Gandhi puts beforeme. Then, I will decide and say what I have to," he said.

To a query whether his party will join the Congressgovernment, he said "I can say only after the meeting."

Chiranjeevi also said there is no going back on hisparty''s stand of supporting a united Andhra Pradesh.

"Do you know what the Congress'' stand is"? he shot backwhen a reporter asked about his party''s stand on thecontentious issue.

The meeting comes after Defence Minister A K Antony hadmet Chiranjeevi in Hyderabad recently and invited him fortalks with Gandhi.
