Census in Tripura from Feb 28

Agartala, Feb 5 (PTI) Population enumeration in Tripurawill begin on February 28 and provisional results of thecounting will be ready by March, senior census official DilipAcherjee said today.

House listing, housing census and collection of data forNational Population Register (NPR) was done in the first phasefrom April to September 2010.

"Every head would be counted irrespective of theirnationality. Even the numbers of beggars, immigrants,prostitutes and eunuchs would be included in the enumeration,"he said.

The enumeration is tasked to collect details such asgender, religion, occupation and educational qualification ofthe people living in the country, he added.

Security forces including army and paramilitary forceswould also be engaged for collecting details of theircolleagues living in camps while civilian officials will gofor door-to-door enumeration.
