Cairo Japanese school shuts down due to political unrest
Cairo, Feb 6 (Kyodo) Teachers at the Cairo Japanese Schoolbegan evacuating from Egypt due to the political unrest in thecountry, closing the school for an undetermined period.
The evacuation began yesterday following an order fromthe Japanese education ministry on Friday, Principal ToshiakiNobumoto said. Most of the 28 students at the academy withelementary and junior high schools have alreadyleft the country.
''''We want to come back as soon as possible and prepare toreopen our school,'''' Nobumoto said. ''''It is very regrettablebecause some children were waiting for their upcominggraduation ceremony'''' ahead of the March 31 end of theJapanese academic year. (Kyodo)
