Badal gives nod for policy to regularise ad-hoc workers
Chandigarh, Feb 6 (PTI) Punjab Chief Minister ParkashSingh Badal today gave an in-principle approval to evolve acomprehensive and uniform policy to regularise the services ofall the employees working on daily wages, adhoc and contractbasis in various departments.
A decision to this effect taken by Badal in twoseparate meetings with the deputations of ITI InstructorsUnion (contract basis) Punjab and PWD Talmail (Coordination)Sangarsh Committee, Punjab, an official spokesman said here.
Badal directed the chief secretary to work out themodalities for the regularisation of the services of daily,adhoc and contract employees in all the departments againstthe sanctioned posts, who had been working for past severalyears.
He also asked the personnel department to compile theentire data pertaining to these employees who had beenrecruited as per the prescribed qualifications and experiencein accordance with strict merit so that this long pendingissue of regularisation could be resolved permanently.
Badal assured both the deputations that the entirematter would be resolved with in next 25 days to thesatisfaction of all the employees'' unions.
The state government was committed to provide acongenial atmosphere to its employees so that they coulddischarge their duties with utmost dedication and professionalcommitment, he said.
