Agitating nursing students march, two girls fall unconscious

Nahan, Feb 5 (PTI) The agitating students of HimalayanNursing College at Kala Amb near here today took out a marchat Nahan to protest fee hike by the management, during whichtwo girls fell unconscious.

Two students fell unconscious due to fatigue andscorching sun and were admitted to a hospital, officials said.

About 150 girl students of the institute, located 25 kmsfrom here, continued their protest for the third day and alsosubmitted a memorandum to Deputy Commissioner Meera Mohanty,who directed the SDM, Nahan to hold an inquiry into theallegations and demands of the students.

The students assembled at Historic Chowgan ground hereand marched towards the office of the Deputy Commissioner.

Carrying placards and banners, they raised slogansagainst the college management and demanded withdrawal of feehike.

When contacted, Registrar of the institute Rakesh Sharmasaid that the annual hostel charges had been increased by Rs4,000 which was justified.
