Textile strike for two days from Feb 14

Erode, Feb 5 (PTI) Textile producers, power loom owners,yarn traders, textile retail and wholesale dealers and textileshops will remain closed for two days from February 14 hereprotesting increase in yarn prices.

The decision was taken at a meeting of textile orientedtraders and producers here yesterday attended by more than 500traders and power loom owners.

C B Gunsekaran,President, Erode Cloth Merchants Associationsaid prices of yarn had increased four times with in an year.

The association appealed to Central and state governmentsto take immediate steps to reduce the prices yarn.
