Sub-Inspector arrested for possessing unlicensed arms
Ghaziabad, Feb 4 (PTI) A police official has beenarrested from a hospital here for allegedly possessingunlicensed arms, officials said today.
Sub-Inspector Sanjay Bharadwaj Sarvodya was arrestedfrom Sarvodya hospital of Kavi nagar area, SSP Badaun districtD K Chaudhray told PTI.
Bharadwaj was absconding since police had raided hisnative place in Badaun district on December 20 and recovered abig cache of unlicensed arms, he said.
Police had recovered one machine gun, four rifles, onegun and hand grenades from his possession and a case wasregistered against him in Allhapur police station, Chaudhraysaid.
The accused met with an accident in Meerut and wasadmitted in intensive care unit in the hospital, fromwhere he was arrested. He was wanted under the NationalSecurity Act and Arms Act, the official said.
He would be transferred to Badaun from Ghaziabad afterconsulting the attending doctors.
