Pranab-Mamata parleys to discuss removing Parliament logjam

Kolkata, Feb 4 (PTI) Union Finance Minister PranabMukherjee and Railway minister Mamata Banerjee tonight held ameeting to discuss various issues, including ways to removethe stalemate in Parliament due to the opposition''s demand onJPC probe into the 2G spectrum allocation scam.

Banerjee later told reporters at Mukherjee''s Dhakuriaresidence that she would send a representative at theall-party meeting convened by him in Delhi on February eightto evolve ways to remove the logjam.

Mukherjee said the political situation in West Bengal,arising out of recent spurt in violence, was discussed withthe Trinamool Congress chief.

"We discussed how to deal with such a situationunitedly since Congress has an alliance with TrinamoolCongress, working together in the Union cabinet and runningthe UPA government with it (Trinamool Congress as an ally),"the Finance minister said.
