Orissa to prepare CSR policy soon
Bhubaneswar, Feb 4 (PTI) In view of growing publicresentment against industries, Orissa government today decidedto formulate a corporate social responsibility (CSR) policy.
A direction in this regard was issued by Chiefsecretary B K Patnaik while presiding over the meeting of theState Level Single Window Clearance Committee.
"The chief secretary has asked us to prepare a draftof the CSR policy after studying different aspects,"Industries Secretary T Ramachandru told reporters.
Though the central government had already framedguidelines for CSR, many states in the country did not have aspecific policy on the matter. Sometimes, the industries donot comply to the CSR due to lack of a proper policy in thisregard, the state government felt.
In absence of a specific policy in this regard, theCSR was being fixed at the Resettlement and PeripheralDevelopment Advisory Committee.
