J-K govt to promote solar energy
Jammu, Feb 5 (PTI) In a bid to promote solar energy,Jammu and Kashmir government will use solar power in lightingup all prominent buildings in the state.
"We want to popularise the new technology of solar energyin Jammu and Kashmir. We want to light up all hospitals,educational institutions, shrines, tourist places, assemblyand secretariat in the state with solar power," Minister ofState for Science and Technology Syed Ruhullah said today.
The minister said 13 solar power plants at an estimatedcost of Rs 3.72 crore are being installed in 22 healthinstitutions and a 50 KW solar power plant is being installedat Sher-i-Kashmir Cricket Stadium at a cost of Rs 1.73 crore.
