Gehlot raises concern over low turn out of students
Jaipur, Feb 4 (PTI) Voicing concern over the low turnout of students in schools in the state, Rajasthan ChiefMinister Ashok Gehlot today said people will have to make"collective efforts" to ensure children get education.
Speaking at the foundation-stone laying ceremony of ahostel in Bhinmal town of Jalore district, Gehlot said, "Thesociety will have to make collective efforts to make sure thatall children, including girls, get education."
He said that people should take inspiration fromformer activist Mahatma Jyotiba Phoole and strengthen theirefforts towards social reforms and girl education.
Gehlot said though efforts of the state government haddelivered better results and percentage of education hadincreased, still number of drop outs was "alarming" and a lotof work needed to be done.
The government can provide infrastructure and makeatmosphere for education, but people will also have to fulfilltheir responsibility to send their kids to schools, the chiefminister said.
