Five youths arrested for robberies

New Delhi, Feb 4 (PTI) Five youths, who allegedly usedto rob businessmen on information provided by "paid" hawkers,were arrested in north Delhi, police said today.

The arrested have been identified as Hasim (25) -- thegang leader, Bhim Singh (26), Vikram (24), Shri Ram (22) andKamre Alam (22), they said, adding that about Rs 1.5 lakhrobbed cash, a pistol and two live cartridges were recoveredfrom their possession.

"The gang operates on particular tips supplied to them bytheir paid informers who are hawkers in Sadar Bazar market.

They only used to target businessmen of Sadar Bazar and BaraHindu Rao area," DCP (North) S S Yadav said.

Bhim Singh was the first to be arrested on February 2from Nabi Karim area.
