Ex-panchyat chief denies making allegation against BJP leaders
Pithoragarh, Feb 4 (PTI) A former district panchayatpresident here today said she did not complain to theUttarakhand Governor that some BJP leaders "exploited" her, asreported in the media.
A letter was circulated to media bearing Ranjana Devi''ssignature pleading to the Uttarakhand Governor for a CBI probeinto her "exploitation" by some BJP leaders during her30-month tenure as zila panchayat chief.
"Some people came to me and said that they are writing toUttarakhand Governor about the political discriminationagainst me in passing no-confidence motion against me inPithoragarh zila panchayat on January 19. But these peoplewrote otherwise and circulated it in the press," Devi said.
The letter had alleged that BJP leaders, including theparty state president, took her on tours and "exploited" herthreatening to dislodge her from her post.
