Education department official shot dead
New Delhi, Feb 4 (PTI) An official of educationdepartment was shot dead near his residence in the capital byunidentified men, police said today.
The incident was reported from Neb Sarai at around 10:30pm last night and the victim has been identified as NaveenRawat, who works as Additional Deputy Commissioner in SanskritVidhyapeeth in Janakpuri.
He was returning home with his mother and relatives afterattending a ceremony at his cousin''s residence.
He was rushed to a private hospital where he wasdeclared brought dead.
Rawat, who lived in Raju Park area in Khanpur, issurvived by his wife, a four-year-old daughter, mother andfather. His father Daya Singh works in a private company.
He was shot at on his forehead.
"Prima facie it seems to be a case of personal enmity. Weare probing all angles. The family''s statement has beenrecorded," a senior police official said.
