Drought-hit farmers getting crop insurance: minister

Giridih (Jharkhand), Feb 4 (PTI) Jharkhand Cooperativeand Minority Welfare Minister Haji Hussain Ansari today saiddisbursement of Rs 220 crore towards crop insurance to farmerswould be completed within two months.

"From January 29 we began disbursement of money tofarmers across the state under the crop insurance, and theexcercise will be completed by March 25 this year," Ansaritold newsmen here.

The farmers were being given the insurance moneyfollowing two successive years of drought in the state, headded.

The state government had a couple of years agointroduced the crop insurance for farmers.
