Cong hits back at BJP after selective SIT report leak charge

New Delhi, Feb 4 (PTI) Congress today hit back at theBJP over its allegations that the Centre had "engineered"selective leak of the SIT report on post Godhra riots, askingthe party how the CAG report on 2G spectrum was divulged.

"We also have to ponder over how the CAG report (on 2Gspectrum) was leaked and not only about the SIT report,"Congress spokeperson Jayanthi Natarajan said here reacting toBJP charge that the government had a role to play in selectiveleak of SIT report on post Godhra riots to divert publicattention from the issues of corruption and price rise.

The Congress leader said the role of Gujarat ChiefMinister Narendra Modi in connection with the post-Godhrariots also needs to be looked into.

"As per my understanding, what is written in the SITreport on the role of Gujarat Chief Minister Narendra Modineeds to be looked into," Natarajan said.

BJP had said it "apprehended and suspected" that theCentre had "engineered" selective leaks of SIT report onpost-Godhra riots to the media to divert attention from issueslike price rise and corruption and demanded a probe into thematter.
