Central team will visit AP to assess crop damage due to rains

Rajahmundry (AP), Feb 5 (PTI) A central team will arrivein East Godavari district of Andhra Pradesh on February 8 and9 to assess the damage caused to crops and property due torains.

The District Joint Collector K Sasidhar said theinter-ministerial team is visiting for the second time toassess the damage suffered on account of the November andDecember rains.

The team will arrive in Kakinada on February 8 from Delhiand stay there for night and the next day before leaving torain-affected areas of Pithapuram, Kakinada Rural andKothapalli mandals, visit the photo exhibition ofrain-affected roads and crops at Kakinada.

The team will meet agricultural, irrigation, road andbuilding officials to know the damage and leave forVisakhapatnam later, an official said here.
