ABSU pledge to intensify statehood demand

Kokrajhar (Assam), Feb 4 (PTI) The influential AllBodo Students Union (ABSU) today pledged to intensify theirdemand for separate "Bodoland" for the Bodo tribals in lowerAssam.

In a resolution passed at the end of the 43rd annualconference of the student body, the pledge was taken to goahead with its demand for a separate state throughdemocratic process.

ABSU president Promod Boro said the organisation alsodemanded that peace initiative on the line of ULFA should betaken up by the state government with both the pro-talk andanti-talk faction of the National Democratic Front of Bodoland(NDFB) insurgent group.
