2G case: Court issues notice to CBI
New Delhi, Feb 5 (PTI) A Delhi court today issuednotice to the CBI, asking it to file a detailed report onwhether its probe in the 2G spectrum case covers the aspect ofnational security as raised by Janta Party chief SubramanianSwamy in his private complaint seeking prosecution of formerTelecom Minister A Raja.
"Issue notice to the CBI to file its detailed reportof the investigation being carried out by it and whether itcovers the aspect of national security as raised bySubramanian Swamy in the present case," Special CBI JudgePradeep Chaddah said.
During the hearing, the court queried if they canstill proceed in the case before it in the wake of Raja''sarrest by the CBI.
Seeking CBI''s response in the matter, the court postedthe hearing for February 23.
"I am of the opinion that this court should notproceed for the time being with this matter", the judge saidwhile issuing notice to the CBI.
Swamy, meanwhile, submitted before the court that heis intending to move an application to implead some otherpersons, including Tamil Nadu Chief Minister M Karunanidhi, asaccused in this complaint.
Comptroller and Auditor General Vinod Rai, who hadbeen summoned by the court to appear as witnesses on Swamy''scomplaint, has filed a certified copy of the entire reportconcerning this matter through his advocate Sandeep Sethi.
