UK delegation explores possibility for bilateral investment
Jaipur, Feb 3 (PTI) A two-member UK delegation todayvisited RIICO for exploring possibility for bilateralinvestment in the areas of Information Technology,infrastructure and other industrial sectors.
The delegates, Deputy Head, Jane Sanders and Senior Tradeand Investment Adviser of UK Trade and Investment, New Delhi,Mukul Verma, met the Rajasthan State Industrial Developmentand Investment Corporation (RIICO) MD Rajendra Bhanawat andheld discussions.
Bhanawat briefed the delegation about the creation ofland bank around Delhi-Mumbai Industrial Corridor (DMIC),sector specific investment opportunities, development of themebased parks etc.
He informed them that the state offers tremendouspotential for investment in areas of Auto, Auto components,ceramic and glass apparel, IT, renewable energy and tourism.
"RIICO could also explore possibilities of setting up ofUK-based investment zone if large numbers of UK-basedcompanies are interested to invest in Rajasthan," Bhanawatinformed as had been done for the Japanese zone Bhiwadi.
Verma informed that they can be instrumental inpromoting investment from Indian companies in the UK, and alsomentioned that the UK, specially London, is a favouritedestination for IT investment and they would support Indiancompanies, which are looking for investment in this sectorthere.
