SP MLA MLC granted bail in murder and abduction case

Lucknow, Feb 4 (PTI) Samajwadi Party MLA Vinod Sarojand MLC Akshay Pratap Singh were today granted bail by theLucknow bench of the Allahabad High Court.

A single bench of Justice Satyendra Singh Chauhangranted bail to SP MLA Saroj and MLC Singh, who were arrestedin Pratapgarh in December last year on charges of attempt tomurder and abduction.

The duo were arrested with independent MLA RaghurajPratap Singh alias Raja Bhaiyya, SP MP Shailendra Kumar andseven others in Pratapgarh on December 18 on a complaint filedby a local BSP leader Manoj Shukla.

Raja Bhaiyya and others moved a bail applicationbefore a local court in Pratapgarh, but it was rejected.

While the state government slapped Gangster Actagainst Raja Bhaiyya and other accused, police filed achargesheet against the two in Pratapgarh court on January 27.
