Special operation to rescue the abducted employee

Itanagar, Feb 04 (PTI) Arunachal Pradesh Home MinisterTako Dabi today ordered a joint operation by Army,Para-military forces and state police at Kharsang in Changlangdistrict to trace an abducted employee of Arunachal PradeshMineral Development and Trading Corporation Limited (APMDTCL).

A group of four heavily armed persons had kidnappedSanjay Kumar, ''overman supervisor'' of APMDTCL run coal minelocated at Kharsang on November 25 and took him away towardsNamchik, about 15-16 km off the coal field, by the company''svehicle.

Before abandoning the vehicle at Balithan Tinali, theabductors reportedly damaged it and took Sanjay Kumar, anative of Bihar, towards the thick forests.

Though security forces were clueless about thewhereabouts of the abducted officials and the group involved,recent investigation revealed that Kumar was kidnapped byArunachal Naga Liberation Force (ANLF), a low profile rebelgroup in the state.

"Security forces have launched the operation from thismorning after getting go-ahead signal. DIG (security) RobinHibu is presently camping in the district to supervise theoperation," Dabi told PTI.

Dabi said he has been given to understand that thematter has been resolved between the kidnappers and company aswell as family members but Kumar is yet to be released causingdeep concern to the government as well as family members. PTIUPL AMD
