Shops have come up even on parking places: HC informed

Ranchi, Feb 4 (PTI) Jharkhand High Court was todayinformed that shops had been constructed even on land meantfor parking of vehicles as the state government said it hadevicted several encroachments in the state capital Ranchi.

In its submission on a PIL against encroachment on mainthoroughfares in Ranchi and its eviction, the government toldthe bench of Chief Justice Bhagavati Prasad that several shopshad come up on parking places, encroaching land illegally.

A social activist, Rajnish Mishra, filed the PIL, prayingeviction of encroachment on important routes for smoothmovement of traffic.

The court fixed February 11 as the next date for hearing.
