Protest disrupts rail traffic in Banaskantha
Banaskantha, Feb 3 (PTI) A protest-march organised bydistrict BJP, demanding more rail connectivity between thedistrict and Ahmedabad, turned violent, injuring three personsincluding a police personnel.
The protest today also paralysed train traffic forover two hours. Police resorted to lathi-charge.
As many as 5,000 people arrived at the railwaycrossing at Mansarowar in the morning leading to stoppage ofseven trains, said the Railways officials.
Speaking to PTI, district BJP president K S Mograsaid that it was high time that something was done for theNorth Gujarat train passengers.
"We hope the Railways would abide by the assurancegiven to us today and halt local train from Ahmedabad toPalanpur, Gujarat Mail, Sabarmati Express and other trainshere," he said. PTI CORKRK
