Over 60 countries to participate in Aero Show

Bangalore, Feb 3 (PTI) More than 60 countries areexpected to participate in the eighth edition of Aero India,touted as Asia''s premier air show, to be held here from Feb 9.

Around 70,000 foreign delegates were expected toattend the five-day event during which nearly 50 types ofaircraft, incuding those from leading global majors, will beshowcased.

Over 260 foreign aviation companies will participatein the event, Wing Commander M D Singh, Director, DefenceExhibition Organisaion, told reporters here today.

Over 600 exhibitors would showcase their products andservices at the event, which was expected to attract around1.75 lakh people.

Highlights of the event include presentation by the''Flying Bulls'' from Austria, he said.

According to Karnataka Industries and CommerceCommissioner Rajkumar Khatri, the state would try to attractinvestments during the show by highlighting facilities thatmade it conducive to aerospace firms to set up establishments.

He said several companies had evinced interest and thegoverment will hold discussions with their representatives andsome of them will hold discussions with the Chief Minister B SYeddyurappa and Chief Secretary V S Ranganathan.
