''Omar Govt has failed miserably to meet demands of employees''
Jammu, Feb 3 (PTI) The NC-led Jammu and Kashmirgovernment has failed "miserably" to meet the genuine demandsof its employees and adopted "suppressive" measures to silencetheir voices, the BJP said today.
"A government which can not meet the genuine demandsof its few lakh employees, can not be expected of mitigatingthe sufferings of population comprising of more than one croretwenty lakh people in the state," BJP state president ShamsherSingh Manhas told reporters here.
"The democratically elected government in this borderstate has miserably failed at all fronts and at all levels."
The employees of different government departments, whowere agitating for their genuine demands, are not indulging inany criminal activities, he said.
Manhas said that the demands like release of arrearsof 6th Pay Commission, regularisation of daily wagers who havebeen putting their services since 1994, removal of payanomalies and release of 10 per cent DA were genuine.
"Here in J-K, the attitude of the government so farhas been anti-employees and it has always adopted suppressivemeasures to silence the voice of employees," he said.
Even pensioners who ought to be treated as seniorcitizens have been subjected to police brutalities, healleged.
Warning that the use of brutal force against agitatingemployees may result in serious repercussions, the BJP leadersaid that genuine demands should be met immediately to ensurenormal functioning in the offices.
