Nine sentenced to life

Chaibasa (Jharkhand), Feb 3 (PTI) Nine persons have beensentenced to life imprisonment today by the court ofAdditional District and Session Judge (Fast track court 1),Ajit Kumar in connection with a murder that took place inSeptember 2009 AT Purasai village in West Singhbhum.

Following the trial, the judge convicted Ajit, Sunil,Ratnakar, Pradip Chandra, Harinath, Vidhyadhar, Gobardhan,Pratap and Gangadhar Nayak and sentenced them to lifeimprisonment.

According to prosecution the accused fatally attackedGanpati Nayak with lathis and knives following a dispute overclaim of a house under Indira Awas Yojana on September 27,2009.
