NCC greatest cohesive forces of nation: Gogoi

Guwahati, Feb 4 (PTI) Assam Chief Minister Tarun Gogoitoday said National Cadet Corps (NCC) has been true to itsmotto and emerged as one of the greatest cohesive forces ofthe nation.

"The NCC has succeeded in bringing together youthsfrom various parts of the country and moulding them intounited, secular and disciplined citizens of the nation," hesaid when interacting with a NCC contingent from North Eastwho participated in the recent Republic Day parade in NewDelhi.

NCC has been able to motivate the young boys and girlsto be better citizens, inculcate comradeship, discipline,leadership, secular outlook and ideals of selfless serviceamong them, he said at a tea party hosted by him for thecontingent.

"The kind of exposure you have all acquired whiletaking part in Republic Day parade will instill plenty ofconfidence in you and help you to stand in good stead in thefuture," Gogoi said.

The NER contingent this year comprised 156 cadets andsix service officers.
