Nabard sanctions funds for Punjab, Haryana under RIDF
Chandigarh, Feb 4 (PTI) The National Bank for Agricultureand Rural Development (Nabard) has sanctioned Rs 209.20 croreand Rs 49.69 crore for Haryana and Punjab, respectively underthe Rural Infrastructure Development Fund (RIDF).
The funds would be utilised in Haryana for remodelling462 watercourses, construction of 14 bridges in nine districtsand 15 projects of water supply in Mahendergarh, Nabard ChiefGeneral Manager (CGM) (Haryana) H K Talreja said.
In Punjab, the money would be spent on construction of 55roads and two bridges in border areas of the state, saidNabard CGM (Punjab) S C Kaushik, adding that theimplementation of this project would directly benefitpopulation spread across 112 villages in Punjab.
