Maha NCC cadets felicitated for winning PM''s Banner

Mumbai, Feb 4 (PTI) Cadets of the Maharashtra DirectorateNCC were felicitated here today for doing the state proud bywinning the prestigious �Prime Minister�s Banner� at theRepublic Day parade.

Altogether 17 NCC Directorates from across the countrycompeted for the same and the state team emerged triumphant.

The Maharashtra NCC Directorate has a glorious past ofbeing the Champion Directorate 14 times in the last 20 years,a Defence spokesperson said.

This year, the contingent was first in nine eventsincluding a Gold Medal for the Best Cadet Junior Wing (Girls).

Deputy Director General, NCC (Maharashtra) felicitatedthe cadets and also give away prizes to them at a ceremonyheld at the Directorate premises today.

The Contingent Commander, officers and staff whocontributed towards winning of the PM�s Banner were also behonoured.

On their return from Delhi after a successful RepublicDay participation, the cadets had met Maharashtra Governor andalso had an interaction with the Chief Minister.
