Engaging teachers in census operations hampering students
Aizawl, Feb 04 (PTI) Federation of Mizoram Government SchoolTeachers (FMGST) today criticised the government forengaging school teachers in the ongoing Census 2011 work tothe detriment of the interest of the students.
A press statement issued by the FMGST said that manyschools had to be closed down as a large number of teacherswere engaged in the census operations and the students wouldsuffer.
�In a school having seven teachers, four were engagedin the census exercise,� the statement said, adding that thegovernment does not seem to have any respect for the Right toEducation Act.
The FMGST also said that the government refused todisburse honorarium to the teachers engaged in the census.
