Jammu, Feb 4 (PTI) Describing discipline and patienceas important ingredients in the success of one''s life, Jammuand Kashmir Chief Minister Omar Abdullah today asked the youthto inculcate these spirit to the optimum.

Addressing a contingent of NCC cadets who met him herelast evening after participating in the Republic Daycelebrations at New Delhi, the Chief Minister said controllingpassion and resorting to restraint at the crucial junctures inone''s life are hallmark of victory over the challenges.

Young blood is like hot iron and can be molded in aform whatever one intends, he said.

"There are many people, who want to exploit youthtaking advantage of their adolescent age and misleading themthrough many ways," he said and advised the youth to bevigilant and prepared to negate all such attempts.

The Chief Minister said the other benchmark in thelife of youth should be hard work to achieve their targets.

The spirit of friendship, love, brotherhood and goodrelations you receive as NCC cadets should be nurtured andpropagated throughout the lives, he added.

"Your experience, awareness and confidence as betterindividuals could be inspiring for others to imbibe," he saidand complemented the cadets for receiving 7th position inoverall performance at the national level.
