Delimitation to be discussed by coalition partners: Omar

Jammu, Feb 4 (PTI) Asserting his government''s resolveto ensure equitable development of all regions in Jammu andKashmir, Chief Minister Omar Abdullah has said the demand fordelimitation of assembly constituencies will be discussedamong the ruling coalition partners.

"Your demand in this regard (constitution ofdelimitation commission) will be discussed among the coalitionpartners (Congress and NC)," Omar told a delegation of Jammuand National Panthers Party legislators led MLA Harsh DevSingh here last evening.

The Panthers Party legislators raised the issue ofdelimitation and demanded constitution of a delimitationcommission "so as to rectify the imbalance in the allocationof assembly seats in the state".

They demanded suitable amendment in the Constitutionfor the purpose and equitable distribution of assembly seatsamong the three regions of the state.
