Conference to suggest model for accelerating CEOs appointments
Bangalore, Feb 4 (PTI) Standing Conference of PublicEnterprises today said it would soon suggest to the Governmenta model for acclerating the process of appointment of CEOs andDirectors to Public Sector Enterprises in the country.
Stressing that there was a need to cut the delay inappointments, SCOPE Director General U D Choubey said moreauthority should be given to the agency to assist PublicEnterprises Selection Board (PESB) and Department of PublicEnterprises in expediting the process of appointments in PSEs.
More than 300 posts of Independent Directors are lyingvacant, he said, according to a statement issued by SCOPE.
Choubey said SCOPE has initiated a study on talentmanagement in PSEs and has hired internationally renowned HRconsultancy firm, Hay Group to conduct the study.
The study report was expected to be ready within threemonths and will be submitted to Department of PublicEnterprises, Ministry of Heavy Industries and PublicEnterprises, Planning Commission, Ministry of CorporateAffairs and the Prime Minister�s Office.
