Vehicle thief arrested
New Delhi, Feb 3 (PTI) A man allegedly involved in 28cases of vehicle theft was arrested in the national capital,police said today.
Acting on a tip-off, Anmol Meena -- hailing from Dosa inRajasthan -- was apprehended from Fatehpuri on February 1,they said, adding that a stolen car and two motorcycles werealso recovered from his possession.
He was allegedly involved in 28 cases including the theftof a Ford Fiesta car along with Rs six lakh from Gurgaon, anofficial said.
"He was active in the north Indian states of Rajasthan,Haryana and Delhi," he said.
In another case, an alleged vehicle thief Ravinder (34)was apprehended from GT Road opposite Amba Cinema yesterday.
Ravinder told police that he was earlier arrested by UPpolice a number of times.
He used to dispose off the stolen vehicles to individualsof adjoining rural areas on very low rates. Five vehicles wererecovered from his possession.
