Murdoch unveils The Daily for Apple iPads

New York, Feb 3: Media tycoon Rupert Murdoch's News Corp. has started a new generation media venture that will supposedly rule the world in the near future. Murdoch has announced the launch of

, a publication built for the Apple iPad tablet PC.

The Daily is the first American daily news publication built only for the world's favourite tablet, Apple iPad. The Daily offers a mixture of text, video, photos, and other interactive content. News Corp. officials said that The Daily's video will be in HD quality.

Murdoch's The Daily will offer about 100 pages of news daily to iPad users. Murdoch described The Daily as "the best of journalism" with "the best of contemporary technology."

iPad users can subscribe The Daily on weekly or yearly basis. Subscription for a week will cost $0.99 and $39.99 for an year. The quality of the news will be a great factor for the success of The Daily as most of the users can access to all forms of news without any cost.

"The iPad demands that we completely re-imagine our craft. Our ambitions are very big. Our costs are very low," Murdoch said during the launch at New York's Guggenheim museum on Wednesday, Feb 2.

"The Daily is incisive, optimistic, and independent. It's not just an app, it's a new voice. The Daily is offered exclusively in Apple's iPad App Store and is available free for two weeks," describes The Daily's website.
