Sugar declines on weak demand
Mumbai, Feb 3 (PTI) Sugar prices declined moderately atthe Vashi Wholesale market here today due to lower offtakefrom retailers amidst adequate stock positions.
Medium sugar quality (M-30) slipped by Rs 10 per quintalto Rs 2,862/2,951 from Wednesday''s closing level of Rs 2,872/2,951.
Small sugar quality (S-30) also fell by a similar marginto Rs 2,836/2,871 per quintal as compared to Rs 2,836/2,881yesterday.
The following are today''s closing rates per quintal, withthe previous rates in brackets:
Small sugar (S-30) quality Rs 2,836/2,871 (Rs 2,836/2,881) and medium sugar (M-30) quality Rs 2,862/2,951(Rs 2,872/2,951).
