Rs 3,000cr internal loan to help BMC complete ongoing projects
Mumbai, Feb 2 (PTI) With the Maharashtra Governmentapproving Rs 3,000-crore internal loan, the BrihanmumbaiMunicipal Corporation (BMC) will be able to execute itsseveral on-going projects including those related to roads,storm water drains and dumping ground.
"We have decided to spend this internal loan amount onthe projects from the next year''s budget, a civic officialsaid today on condition of anonymity.
The list of projects submitted by the BMC to the StateGovernment would include the ongoing projects like roads,sewage treatment plants, storm water drains, dumping grounds,hospitals for demanding internal loans.
Since the last couple of years, the BMC has beendemanding internal loan from the Government to carry out theseprojects.
The Government would possibly give the loan from civicprovident fund coffers and the BMC would returned it to Statein a phased manner, the official said.
