Nine more injured in a boiler blast succumb, toll rises to 10

New Delhi, Feb 2 (PTI) Nine more persons havesuccumbed to their injuries suffered in a boiler blast in asouth-east Delhi factory a week ago, taking the toll in theincident to ten.

The blaze broke out in a cloth factory in TughlakabadExtension on January 25 after the boiler exploded in a clothfactory. At least 12 people were injured in the incident outof which a woman died on the day of the incident.

"Nine more people have succumbed to theit injuries invarious hospitals in the past one week till yesterday," asenior police official said.

The incident took place on the top floor of a fourstorey building owned by one Munna. Around 25 people wereworking in the factory at the time of the incident.

The deceased include Gauri Shankar (27), Amir (19),Alam (27), Mukhtiar (27), Nizamuddin (18), Raheez (18) andLalti Devi (35).

The deceased had been treated at Lok Nayak Jaiprakashand Safdurjung hospitals.

A case under Sections 304A (causing death due tonegligence), 337 (causing hurt by an ac which endangers humanlife), 338 (causing grievous hurt by an act which endangershuman life) and 287 (dealing with machinery so as to endangerhuman life) of Indian Penal Code has been registered.
