Kumaraswamy disqualification sought

Bangalore, Feb 3 (PTI) An advocate has filed a complaintbefore the Returning Officer of Bangalore Rural ParliamentaryConstituency seeking disqualfication of H D Kumaraswamy, MP,on the ground that he has suppressed information on his assetsin his affadavit.

The advocate, a voter in the constituency, in hiscomplaint filed yesterday alleged that Kumaraswamy did notdisclose assets he held under Hindu Undivided Family (HUF).

Kumaraswamy, had declared two properties coming under HUFin his assets and liabilities statement filed beforeLokayukta, but not in his affidavit given to the ElectionCommission while contesting the seat, which he won, it said.

The petitioner wanted the authorities to peruse therecords, inquire into the matter and initiate legal action asper law.

Political Secretary to the Chief Minister B J Puttaswamyat a press conference here released copies of the complaintand demanded that Kumaraswamy be disqualified from his LokSabha membership.

This is another attack mounted on the former Prime MinisterH D Devegowda family after the state government launchedinvestigations into purchase of lands by the family.
