Icecream case: Further probe if fresh documents come up

Thiruvananthapuram, Feb 2 (PTI) Chief Minister V SAchuthanandan today said a detailed probe into the "ice creamparlour" sex scam will be ordered if fresh documents come upfollowing police probe into charges hurled at each other byIUML leader P K Kunhalikutty and his relative."Now a preliminary investigation is on. The governmentwill think of a detailed probe if fresh documents come up as aresult of this probe," Achuthanandan told reporters here.

Police in Kozhikode had last week registered an FIR inthe wake of allegations and counter allegations by the formerminister and his relative Rouf.

Rouf had alleged that there had been attempts tosabotage the case to ensure that Kunhalikutty was not listedas an accused.

Kunhalikutty had alleged that he faced a threat to hislife from Rouf, who had sought to blackmail him.

The case pertains to allegations of using an ice creamparlour in Kozhikode as a cover for luring girls into a sexracket.Though Kunhalikutty had never been made an accused inthe case, he had to resign as Industries minister in the thenUDF government in 2005 after one of the alleged victimsdragged his name into the scam.The case was later dismissed by the court for want ofevidence against the accused in the case.
