Five killed as rival groups exchange fire in MP village
Vidisha (MP), Feb 3 (PTI) Five persons were today killedand seven others injured in an exchange of fire between tworival groups at Bavshiya village here, police said.
Kallu Khan, who had been village sarpanch for 35 years,was defeated by a woman relative of one Murad Khan in thepanchayat polls here some months back, following which enmityprevailed between the two groups, Area Inspector MohammadSaleem said.
This morning, the groups entered into an altercationafter which they traded fire under Satpada police stationarea, leaving five dead, he said.
The deceased have been identified as Aziz Khan (30),Basruddin (20), Raees (32), Asif Khan (20) and Shahbuddin(35), police said.
The injured have been admitted to the district hospital,Saleem said adding both groups have been booked under relevantsections of IPC.
