Ethiopia seeks cooperation to develop proj such as IMT Manesar

Chandigarh, Feb 2 (PTI) A high-level Ethiopiandelegation, led by Development Bank of Ethiopia PresidentEsayas Bahire Gebremeskel, today seeked cooperation fromHaryana for developing industrial projects such as IndustrialModel Township in Manesar, Gurgaon.

The delegation also sought cooperation to develop foodparks in both the countries, while visiting the project sitedeveloped by the State''s nodal agency Haryana State Industrialand Infrastructure Development Corporation.

They visited the site after Haryana CM Bhupinder SinghHooda had an interactive session with the Heads of Missions ofvarious African nations such as Kenya, Uganda, Ethiopia, inDelhi earlier in the day to discuss the possibility of JointAgri-Business Relations with African nations.

During the meeting, Hooda said that there was a greatpotential of mutual cooperation and strengthening of bilateralrelations between Haryana and African countries.

He said that the Haryana government would extend fullcooperation and exchange of technical knowledge in thepossible areas of agriculture production, horticulture,irrigation, food processing, education and development ofindustrial estates in African countries.

He invited the delegation of farmers from theparticipating countries to visit Haryana to see the latestagricultural technologies being used in the state and offeredthe drip and sprinkler irrigation systems technology beingused in the arid areas.

The High Commissioner of Uganda Minisha Jayat Madhvaniinvited Hooda to visit Uganda and state of Haryana toparticipate in the trade fair scheduled to be held in Ugandain the month of October 2011 to exhibit its''s achievements inthe field of agriculture and latest agricultural technologies.

While referring to the offer of mutual cooperation in thefield of tomato processing by Economic Counsellor of Embassyof Burkina Faso, Idriss Raoua Ouedraogo, Hooda said besidestomato processing, there is a great scope in the picklesindustry.

The state has a massive pickle industry in Panipat andpickles are exported from Panipat to a number of countries inthe world, he added.
