All party meeting held for smooth functioning of UP Assembly

Lucknow, Feb 3 (PTI) With the Budget session of UttarPradesh Assembly likely to start on a stormy note tomorrow asthe Opposition plans to corner the government on law and orderissue, Vidhan Sabha Speaker Sukhdeo Rajbhar today held an allparty meeting here.

"During the meeting the Speaker requested the leadersof all the political parties to extend cooperation in smoothconduct of the House as per the parliamentary traditions," anofficial spokesman said.

On behalf of the ruling BSP, Chief Minister Mayawatiassured of full cooperation.

The session will start with Governor''s address whereindetails of decisions taken in the interests of the people andachievements of the government will be presented, besidesannual state budget for the next fiscal, she said.

Among those who attended the meeting were SP''s AmbikaChaudhary, Om Prakash Singh (BJP), Pramod Tiwari (Congress)and Kokab Hameen (RLD).

The leaders also assured the Speaker to cooperate forthe peaceful and smooth functioning of the House.
