Troubled days ahead for Kalmadi?

New Delhi, Feb 2 (PTI) Suresh Kalmadi, who facesallegations of irregularities in the conduct of CommonwealthGames, could soon be in further trouble.

An indication to this effect was available in Congresstoday, a day on which former telecom minister A Raja wasarrested by CBI in connection with the 2G spectrum allocationscam.

A senior party leader, who declined to be identified,said that there is likely to be "action" ahead of the Budgetsession of Parliament as the government is making all outefforts to make it a smooth affair.

He said that the 2G scam and irregularities in theCommonwealth Games were two main issues before the UPAgovernment on which it was taking "visible andtransparent" action.

Like in the case of 2G scam, the next course of actionin Commonwealth Games irregularities will depend upon thefindings of the investigative agency.

Kalmadi, who is the Chairman of the Commonwealth GamesOrganising Committee, has already been interrogated by CBI andlater has been removed from the post by Ajay Maken, who hasrecently taken over as the Sports Minister.

A Lok Sabha member from Pune, Kalmadi has already beenremoved as the Secretary of the Congress Parliamentary Party.
