Trains to be regulated for 33 days

Kochi, Feb 2 (PTI) In connection with the on going doublingworks on Kayankulam-Mavelikara section, the Southern Railwaytoday said some trains would be regulated from February sevenseven to March 11.

In order to minimise problems for passengers, special carehas been taken to carry out most of the works during nighttime for the first 15 days, a railway press release said heretoday.

From February seven to 21, the following trains will beregulated between 11 pm and 4 am at stations near toKayankulam.

Trivandrum Division is planning to attach Diesel Locosinstead of Electrical locos, which will permit some of thetrains to be passed through Kayankulam station even during theblock hours.

The trains which are likely to suffer 10 minuts to 1 hourdelays during the night are as follows:

16348 Mangalore-Trivandrum, 16344 Palakkad Town Trivandrum(Amrita Express), 16343 Trivandrum Palakkad (Amrita Express),16331 Mumabi CST - Trivandrum, 12432 H. Nizamuddin Trivandrum(Rajadhani Express), 16127 Chennai Egmore - Guruvayur Express,16128 Guruvayur - Chennai Egmore, the release said.

Other weekly trains, which are scheduled to pass Kayankulambetween 11 pm and 4 am during the block period, will also havesimilar detentions. Howver during the first phase of thenon-interlocked working between February 7 to 21 there is noproposal to cancel train services, it said.
