Tendulkar''s missing memento found after two days
Mumbai, Feb 2 (PTI) A memento, meant for cricketmaestro Sachin Tendulkar''s mother, suspected to have beenstolen during a programme here, was found today.
The memento -- a gold-plated disk with a coin, worthRs 2 lakh -- was accepted by Sachin and his elder brotherNitin on behalf of their mother during a programme at Bandra''sRang Sharada Auditorium on Saturday.
Sachin released a CD of poems written by his latefather, Ramesh Tendulkar, at the programme.
Afterwards, the memento could not be traced, so a caseof theft was lodged with the police.
"The memento is found. It had not been stolen. Therewas some misunderstanding," said Samad Shaikh, SeniorInspector at Bandra Police Station.
Sachin and Nitin accepted the memento, after whichNitin had kept it aside amid boxes of CDs , Shaikh said.
"A guest, who had been presented with a CD, alsopicked up the memento by mistake," the officer said.
After seeing the media reports about missing memento,the person returned it to the organisers.
